Formed in Buffalo, New York, in 1986, the Goo Goo Dolls developed from punk and alternative roots into one of pop rock's best-known bands. Frontman John Rzeznik and bassist Robby Takac have led the group through a career spanning more than three decades, with songs shaped by themes of love, longing, and resilience.
The band's 1998 album Dizzy Up the Girl produced enduring hits including “Iris,” “Slide,” and “Black Balloon.” “Iris,” also featured in the film City of Angels, became a defining song for the group and a familiar arena singalong. Other releases include A Boy Named Goo, Gutterflower, and 2022's Chaos in Bloom.

Capital One Arena is a major sports and entertainment venue at 601 F Street NW in Washington's Penn Quarter. Its central location puts the arena within a lively downtown district, with restaurants and city attractions nearby. The venue hosts arena-scale concerts as well as Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals games.
For a concert, lower-bowl seats offer a closer view of the stage, while center sections on the Club Level can provide a comfortable elevated perspective. Floor arrangements vary by show, so check the event's seating map before choosing a ticket. The upper-level corner sections are among the more distant options; guests prioritizing a clearer view may prefer seats closer to the center.
The arena's downtown location makes public transit a practical alternative to driving. The Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro station, served by the Green, Yellow, and Red lines, is directly below the venue. Nearby garages are available, but event-night rates and traffic can make advance planning worthwhile.
Rideshare drop-off and pickup are commonly arranged near F Street NW or G Street NW, though downtown traffic can be heavy around event time. Allow extra time if driving, and confirm current garage availability and pricing before departure.
